How a family tragedy inspired this recruiter to go it alone

Sometimes great ideas are born from great tragedies. This was certainly the case with Sophie Whomsley, who launched her own recruitment agency after a family tragedy required her to work from home.  

Whomsley’s twin sister Nina suffered serious brain damage in a car accident, prompting Sophie to quit her job and go about starting her own home-based recruitment firm. The mother of one launched FMCG Selective, which works with clients such as Bacardi, Campari and Maxxium.
